GROUND ZERO - 12 YEARS LATER

The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people and destroyed the 16-acre World Trade Center (WTC) site in lower Manhattan. The picture shows the place of basement of the former twin towers. The water basins are the heart of the 9-11 memorial.

Picture was taken from top of 7 WTC near 1 WTC, which is now the highest building of New York and in the US.
