Rafram Chaddad: Watch Rug
Das Kunstwerk entstand 2013 durch Rafram Chaddad. Es ist Teil der aktuellen Ausstellung „Kumsitz“ im KIT (Kunst im Tunnel) in Düsseldorf. Allerdings ist das Kunstwerk hier ohne Arm ausgestellt. Es liegt hier auf einem blauen Podest. Das Kunstwerk hat eine Größe von 190*85 cm.
Rafram Chaddad wurde 1976 auf Djerba (Tunisia) in einer jüdischen Familie geboren. Er wuchs in Israel auf und arbeitet seit 2001 in verschiedenen Kunstgebieten, inkl. Performance, Fotografie und Videokunst.
Rafram Chaddad sagt auf seiner Homepage: „Es ist eine Arbeit mit begrenztem Material. I verwende Uhren, die mein Vater mir gab. Mein Vater ist Uhrmacher und diese Uhren konnte er in den letzten 30 Jahren nicht mehr reparieren. Dieses wertlosen Gegenstände wurden mein Material. Der Teppich ist geschwungen in der Technik der Ketten- und Schusstechnik. Der Teppicht liegt auf einem Arm, der durch die Wand geht.

This artwork was made in 2013 by Rafram Chaddad. It is part of the current exhibition „Kumsitz“ at the KIT (Kunst im Tunnel) in Düsseldorf. But the „Watch Rug“ is exposed without the arm. It is lying on a blue podium. Dimensions and material: the rug is 190*85 cm. mixed material.
Rafram Chaddad was born in 1976 in the island of Djerba (Tunisia) in a jewish family. He grew up in Israel and since 2001 has been working in the arts field, including performance, photography and video art.
Rafram Chaddad says on his homepage about the artwork: „It’s a work with a limited material. I use the watches that my father gave me. My father is a watchmaker and these are all the watches he couldn’t fix in the last 30 years. His “failures” became my material. The rug is weaved in warp and weft technique.
