Esterel Mountains, the red bloody mountains, are located in departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes in Provence, south-east France. The Esterel Mountains were formed millions of years ago. They are made up of red volcanic rocks stretching over 32,000 hectares, lining the Mediterranean Sea coast.
The highest point is Les Suvieres hill, 614 m a.s.l. (in the photo).
