The Cherry Blossoms are blooming....Spring has sprung

The Cherry Blossoms in Washington D.C. in full bloom are a sight to see! There’s more than one place in the Washington DC area with cherry blossoms, but by far the most famous, is the Tidal Basin. It looks like a lake, has thousands of cherry trees lining its waterline, and also has several important monuments around it.
Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The gift and annual celebration honor the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued close relationship between the two countries.
