Die auf den ersten Blick ins Auge fallenden Blüten an einem sonnigen Frühlingstages bedecken das, was im Hintergrund vage zu sehen ist. Schiefe Laternenpfähle, Häuser ohne Fenster und mit zugemauerten Türen. Die nackte Erde im Vordergrund und die völlig unbelebte Straße verstärken den Eindruck, dass hier etwas nicht in Ordnung ist. An der Stelle des Fotografen sind die Gebäude bereits vollständig abgerissen, auf der anderen Straßenseite steht eine letzte Häuserzeile, von ihren ehemaligen Bewohnern aufgegeben. Mittlerweile ist auch sie niedergelegt. Der Braunkohletagebau frisst hier die komplette Geschichte des Ortes.

The trees' blossom at a sunny spring day at first sight covers what is shown in the background. Skew lantern poles, houses without windows and doors filled with bricks. The bare earth in the foreground and the absolutely empty street put emphasis on that there's something wrong. At the photographers position the buildings already have been totally removed. The street seen is the last line of houses left at that point, already abandoned by the former inhabitants. Now, even these houses are layed down. Open pit mining of brown coal eats up the complete history of that place.
